EMC Supports GMCS Ichthyofaunal (Fish) Assessment for Barima Mora Passage Study

Over the period, September 6-8, 2021, Environmental Management Consultants Inc (EMC) provided support to the Guyana Marine Conservation Society (GMCS) for the Ichthyofaunal (Fish) Assessment of the Barima Mora Passage.

Michael Philander, EMC’s Biologist participated with members from the GMCS and local stakeholders to assess the diversity, abundance, and distribution of fishes in the Barima-Mora passage and to determine the life stage, commercial importance, and conservation status of the fishes of the area.

This initiative is part of several collaborative activities between EMC and GMCS as part of a Memorandum of Understanding which was signed on March 03, 2021.
