EMC conducts Biodiversity Baseline Study in Region One
A team of biodiversity specialists from Environmental Management Consultants (EMC) is currently conducting a Biodiversity Baseline Study as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study for a key mining project in Region 1. The team, comprising Guyanese specialists, is undertaking an assessment of flora and fauna in the project area and which includes surveys of fish, birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
Biodiversity assessments, management planning and monitoring is one of the focus areas of EMC which has done work across Guyana in all of the major eco-regions and for a wide range of development projects.
